Great news, you’ve already completed your Open Water course and have a good number of dives under your belt for experience. Now there’s this wreck you’ve wanted to dive for a while but it’s a little deeper than your 18m max depth allowance so you’ve decided to do your Advanced Open Water course, nice choice, it may just get you to dive sites like the one below!
As mentioned above, you’re going to dive, dive and dive some more! This course includes 5 adventure dives which either introduces you to or increases you’re knowledge of a specialised area of diving.
Now the three remaining options you choose for yourself depending on what areas you personally feel you need to improve on or have a particular interest in. These range from peak performance buoyancy to underwater photography, night diver, wreck diver and boat diver to name a few. To help you choose what the best options are for you, chat to your instructor who can explain each one in detail and make suggestions based on your diving experience. Please note course price excludes PADI material and certification fee, available direct from the diving centre or by completing the PADI eLearning course.
- Sort of obvious, but you have to already be a PADI Open water diver (or equivalent from another training organisation).
- Minimum of 12 years old (depth limits apply) or 15 for full Advanced cert.
All student divers of any level are required to complete the PADI medical questionnaire prior to starting course. Any student answering ‘Yes’ to one or more of the questions may require medical clearance prior to commencing in water activities. A copy of the medical form can be found here.
